H.P. Lovecraft

"Preoccupation with viscerate texture." This phrase was funny enough to actually blog about. I’m reading up on Lovecraft, as one of my first Kindle buys is going to be the compiled works of H.P Lovecraft, an author I’ve been DYING to get into for a long time now. The Wikipedia article on Lovecraftian Horror states as one of the characteristics of his genre: "Preoccupation with viscerate texture. The horror features of Lovecraft’s stories tend to involve semi-gelatinous substances, such as slime, as opposed to standard horror tropes such as blood, bones, or corpses."

And so, it’s just funny, really. Not quite sure where to begin, though. Suggestions?
