Found Out What X-T2 Problem Is

I checked into the shop today and it turns out the motherboard somehow got damaged. I’m not entirely sure how that’s possible; perhaps there was some electronic damage from the time when my X-T2 & 90mm f/2’s weather sealing failed and water got within.

Dropping the 35mm may have been coincidental with the motherboard failure; they reported that the lens works just fine on its own. And considering only the one lens dropped yet the other lens also refused to work…It aligns with my own thinking as well. Just a (un)timely coincidence.

Looks like it will cost $250 to fix, which is painful but better than having to buy a new camera! Unfortunately, it won’t be ready for a week, which means it’s not coming to Hualien and Taroko Gorge with me. I guess I’ll have to go back to appreciating the landscapes without documenting them!

  1. At least now you know the problem, and it’s fixable. Enjoy your trip to Hualien and Taroko Gorge.
