Today I went and picked up my XT2 from the shop! I returned to Taipei from Hualien last week and had checked in at the repair shop. They had it ready – but for some reason, the LCD screen showed a strong pink tint. While the photos taken were fine, a pink-tinted LCD screen is obviously distracting.
Now that I have it back, I’m going to have to spend time fussing over all of my menus again, customizing it to get it just right since they factory reset it. Back button focus was a pain to get right…Time to break out the manual.
The XT2 is the best APS-C camera on the market right now in terms of money to performance. 50-60% of the cost of the X-T3 with 95% of the performance. If you don’t need the fastest autofocus or best quality 4K, the X-T2 is an absolute steal!
It was an overcast day on my way back to Dazhi Station but I snapped a few images on the way back with the 35mm f/1.4, just to have some shots to noodle with in Capture One.
I mentioned briefly that I went and bought the XC 15-45mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS PZ a few weeks ago. Since my camera’s been in the shop, I haven’t had time to take it through its paces. But I have to say, I’m pretty impressed with it and might do a review of it in the future, if anyone’s interested?
Travel plans coming up. In less than 3 weeks, I’ll be in Thailand. Looking at touring Bangkok for somewhere in between a week and a month before going…Well, I have some ideas, but nothing solid yet.
